My prompt has a bunch of stuff in it but it ends with a %. How do I fix the emulation problem? |

If, when you login, you get a prompt that ends with a "%" then type:
Usually you would not edit this file but it is necessary to eliminate this problem. Go to the very bottom of the file and type:
Case does matter. After you have inserted this line press and hold the Control button and then press X to exit pico. Read and answer the questions that it asks. When you get your system prompt (%) back simply logout and back in. After that point, you should be able to use Pine or any other UNIX software with no problems. |
