Will Statistics Tracking track a single Item I've posted in a Content Area in my Blackboard Learn Course Site? |
||||
Not at this time, no. Here's why:
Items created in Blackboard Learn can have attachments or they can simply have content that can be viewed just by entering a Content Area and looking at it. Items do not need to be clicked on in order to be counted in the Statistics Tracking because technically the instructor could have posted a long reading in the Virtual Text Box Editor on that page and all students would need to do is enter a Content Area and read the content. In other words, if a student accessed a Content Area with six Items in it, Statistics Tracking will say that he or she has "seen" all six Items, even if the student never clicked on files attached to the Items. If the instructor were to use Assignment or Test, those are content items that need to be opened before they are counted in statistics; therefore, they would show accurately in Statistics Tracking if you wanted to track which students had accessed those content items. At this time, the only option to be able to use Statistics Tracking to track an individual Item is to create a sub-folder (Content Folder) within a Content Area, place one Item in it, and then use Statistics Tracking to track which students had accessed that sub-folder. |
