I use pine to connect to unix.cas.utk.edu. What should my folder collection settings be?

After Jan. 1, 2007, all Pine users that store mail on unix.cas.utk.edu should change their folder collection settings as follows.

  • In the Pine Main Menu, choose S - Setup.
  • In the Setup Menu, choose L - collectionLists.
  • Choose your Unix account from the list.
  • In the Server field, enter the following value: unix.cas.utk.edu/ssl/novalidate-cert/user=netid, where netid is your Unix username.

  • Press the Enter key and enter your Unix password when prompted.
  • Exit & Save Changes.
  • The next time you log into Pine, you will be prompted to enter your Unix password before you are able to view your folders.
