Sometimes when I get a .docx file and read it in Outlook Web Access (Tmail) the computer thinks it is a .zip file. I can't open or work with the file. I'm using IE 8. Help! |

This is a problem related to Internet Explorer and .docx files. These document files are a set of files zipped together. So, when Internet Explorer tries to download them, it translates the group of files into a .zip file instead of a .docx file.
To be able to open the attachments:
· Right click the attachment, and choose "Save Target As..."
· In the save window, change the 'Save As Type' option to "All Files"
· In the filename field, change .zip to .docx
When opened from the saved location on your hard drive, the file should function normally. |
